Data Collection
Vault Finance does not collect any personal information. We have no servers, no user database, and no analytics infrastructure. We cannot access your budgets, transactions, investment holdings, net worth data, or any other financial information you store in the app.
When you use Vault Finance, your data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s Core Data framework with AES-256 hardware-accelerated encryption.
Network Requests
Vault Finance makes minimal network requests solely to retrieve public market data:
- Stock & ETF prices — via Yahoo Finance public API. Only ticker symbols (e.g., “AAPL”) are sent.
- Cryptocurrency prices — via CoinGecko public API. Only coin identifiers are sent.
- Exchange rates — via Reserve Bank of Australia and ECB public APIs.
These requests contain only publicly available ticker symbols or currency codes. Your portfolio holdings, quantities, account balances, or any personally identifiable information are never included in any network request.
Permissions
Vault Finance requests the following device permissions, all used solely within the app:
- Face ID / Touch ID — optional app lock to protect your financial data. Biometric data is managed entirely by Apple’s Secure Enclave.
- Camera — receipt scanning for quick transaction entry. Images are processed on-device and never uploaded.
- Photo Library — selecting receipt photos for OCR processing. Photos never leave your device.
In-App Purchases
When you purchase Vault Pro (monthly subscription, annual subscription, or lifetime purchase), the transaction is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store. We receive a transaction receipt to unlock Pro features, but we do not receive your payment information, name, or email address.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your device’s App Store settings.
Third-Party Services
Vault Finance does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. The app is built using only Apple’s first-party frameworks (SwiftUI, Core Data, StoreKit, Charts, Vision, CryptoKit).
Data Export & Portability
Vault Finance allows you to export all your data at any time as CSV or JSON files. You own your data and can take it with you whenever you choose.
Data Deletion
To delete all your data, simply delete the Vault Finance app from your device. Since no data is stored on any server, deletion is immediate and irreversible. We recommend exporting your data before deletion.
Children’s Privacy
Vault Finance is rated 4+ and contains no content inappropriate for children. The app is designed for personal financial management and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. For material changes, we will notify users via an in-app notice.
